Need More Traffic to Your Blog Posts? Do These Three Things.

Writing blog content is hard work. It takes time, energy, and patience- three things we have so little of in today’s fast-paced work environment. If you are thinking of starting a blog, you need to think about how you’re going to attract more visitors to your website. Posting a blog  on your website and waiting for traffic won’t get people to read through your content. You want to get maximum value from all the hard work and effort you put into your blog. In this post, I’ll show you different ways you can get more people to read your blogs and drive more traffic to your website.

Distribute Your Blog Post Via Email

When you are distributing written content, your email list should be a priority. People have signed up for your email list because they have found value from your content, they learn from you, they love your brand or, they have the intention to purchase.

The people on your list are most likely to be further down your sales funnel because they take the time to read your content.

Consistently sharing blog content with your email list will drive more quality traffic to your website.

Contrary to some beliefs, blogs are shareable content for all social media platforms- including clubhouse. Here’s why. Your followers and your network engage with your content for a reason. They either like your products, your posts, they get value from your content or, they see you as an opinion leader in your field. Whatever the reason maybe, blogs are meant to be shared. It’s content you can use to build a relationship with your followers.

If you’re not sure how to share links on social media, I’ve provided ways you can share your blog by platform.

  • Update the link in your bio to your most recent blog post.
  • If you want people to access other pages of your website, you can use linktree, a service that allows you to post multiple links to your bio.
  • Use the swipe up feature on your stories.
  • Post the feature image of your blog on your feed with the call to action to click the link in your bio.
  • Post the feature image in your stories with the call to action to click the link in your bio.

  • Update the link in your bio on TikTok.
  • Above is an image of where you can find the link.
  • Later has a tutorial on how to update the link in your bio on TikTok.

Other platforms like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn make it very easy to share links on their platforms. Once you create a post all need to do is copy and paste the link. You can also update the link in your bio to get more traffic to your blog post.

Your Sales Team Should Share Blogs

If your company has a sales team or, if you’re an independent sales rep. Trust me. Sharing blogs with potential customers works.

Not every lead will have looked at  your website let alone have read your blogs. These people are likely to be at the top of your sales cycle and are doing their initial research on your products and services.

Sharing a blog post that answers their questions  will help them decide whether or not the product or service is right for them. Additionally, it saves you time from having additional meetings to answer their questions in person. In my experience, sharing blog content helped expedite the sales cycle because the client could establish whether or not the service was a good fit. Not to mention the added bonus of generating more traffic to your website.

In Conclusion

If you’re looking to generate more traffic to your website, sharing your blog posts with your email lists, potential customers and social media platforms will help you achieve better results.
