This is a versatile recipe! You can serve this at breakfast, brunch or dessert. And it’s so easy to make! The brown butter candied walnuts add sweet and savory flavours
Ingredients
- 4 overripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease a 9 X 5” loaf pan.
In a separate bowl mash the bananas.
In a large bowl, whisk together the butter and sugars until well combined. You can use a hand mixer, whisk or stand mixer.
Add the eggs, mashed banana and vanilla. Continue to mix until well combined
Fold in the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt into the wet ingredients, then fold until combined. Fold in 3/4 cup of the chocolate chips and ¾ cup brown butter candied walnuts.
Pour the batter into the loaf pan.
Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, until a knife or toothpick inserted into the middle of the loaf comes out clean.
Cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
